Since early August, prices have been climbing steadily, and the recent pace makes it feel like we’ve entered a new phase.

As new product launches approach, older model prices normally weaken. But the iPhone 16 is moving in the opposite direction, and the gap with the previous release cycle is widening. It raises the question of how long this trend will continue and whether now is still the right time to buy.

This figure comes from a first verification directly sourced from the market data center. The sample is 65 iPhone 16 listings published on Bugalmarket, verified on September 1, 2026. Market prices can vary listing by listing, and while median prices are easy to read, quartile (P) indicators were also included to capture upper/lower price points.

P25 and P75 mean the 25th percentile and 75th percentile when sorted by price. Put differently, 1 in 4 listings is above P25, and 1 in 4 is below P75. The same model can differ by capacity, condition, and warranty period, so these quartiles should be considered together when setting a purchase plan.

Median 940,000 won — each listing’s price matters

If you’re considering buying a used iPhone 16 now, the recommended purchase guideline is around 730,000 won, the P25 level. Listings in the lower 25% tend to be in better condition than average, and further drops aren’t likely in the near future.

But listings below P10, under 611,280 won, are cheap for a reason — inspect carefully. Below that price, warranty periods tend to be short, and risks like activation (carrier lock), model year, battery health, and unofficial repair history increase.
